Updates
Well, as I last said, things with Cleon Peterson are moving along somewhat swiftly. As Northeastern continues to turn me upside down and shake my pockets free of any excess money I would use for, oh I don’t know, groceries, I have managed to get together money for some shirt samples, and have decided upon the shirts we will be printing upon. Our first season will be made up of five paces, one from me, four from (fingers crossed!) Cleon “Showtime” Peterson, with no more than 125 duplicates of each piece. I had some prelim pics to put up, but I spilled an adult beverage on them. In other news, this is a great song.
Fend For Yourself
I’ve been speaking with a few people who know quite a bit about streetwear. I run ideas by them and get their yea or nay. Well, after much Naying, I got one yea for the first theme: Fend For Yourself. I won’t go into it, but when you see it (here first, of course!) it will have emcees jumping out shoes and socks. Fo Sho. Speaking of Erick and Parrish, reunion album? Yeah, it’s happening.
Jay-Z X Jimi Hendrix
I know I am probably light years behind most of you mash-up fanatics, but I just now found out about this one, and I love it. Jimi Hendrix, my favorite artist of all time, and Jay-Z, my favorite Hip Hop artist bar none. Editing may be a little on the sloppy side, but it doesn’t take away from the overall quality.
Wiggety Wack Wednesday.
Hey Sports fans. Every Wednesday, I’m putting a post entitled Wiggety Wack Wednesday, chronicling the wackest things of the past week. Since this is the first, We’ve got a lot of Ground to cover. Brace yourself. Read the rest of this entry »
New Old Ice Cube.
One of the Founding Fathers of Hip Hop as we know it, like it or not, is back again with some old flare back to him. Ice Cube has been one of my favorite rappers since I herd No Vaseline at age 7 (I still know the words), and he’s never one to half step. he raises some good points, and there’s some pretty raw footage. Also, the intro is both hilarious and eerily not far from reality at all. Peep.
Obama & Obey
You never see or hear of too many brands throwing their support behind a Presidential candidate. That being said, this is pretty cool to see. Do ya Thing, Obama, Best of luck to you! Read the rest of this entry »
Radiohead Coming to Boston!
August 13th, Radiohead will be at the Tweeter Center. This will also be the day global hunger and war end, strangely enough. It’s seven months away, but screw it, I’m pumped now.
Here’s My favorite Radiohead song, set to one of my favorite Manga. Eat it up.
I hope you choke.
Education of KanYe West
Great Mixtape with some of Ye’s songs, along with the tracks he sampled. Well done front to back. Check it out over at HHDX, click HERE.
Radio Show?
So, during my time at work with my older sister, we came up with an awesome idea: starting our own online radio broadcast. Anyone who is unfortunate enough to know both me and my sister, and to have seen us debate any issue, know how truly interesting this could be. We haven’t spoken at any length about it, but it’s pretty intriguing, and with us being able to do it for free nowadays, thanks to the advent of technology, it could definitely happen. Any names? hit me.
CRS – Dead?
There’s a rumor going around that the supergroup CRS – Child Rebel Soilders will not be releasing or working on any new material, due to a falling out between KanYe and Lupe Fiasco. Though, I’ve heard from a few people I know who know both parties that this is totally false, and that the two still share a close relationship, if it is in fact true, this is a sad day for Hip Hop heads everywhere.
Check Out their Video for “Us Placers” – Directed by Vashtie.
