Crooks Fall 08
I loved, then hated, and now love C n’ C’s ish. They got hot, then too hot, then simmered and got back at it. Here’s some shots of their new jams, Boundless already has theirs, Beantown should be getting them as I type.

Nom de Guerre
They’re rolling out their new ish in the coming weeks, and, thanks to a friend of mine, I now know it can be copped over at Louis Boston, so head over there, I will, cuz that bag is freshness.

Frank151 Boston Blades Fitted
I heart Frank’s jams, and this one is clean, and from the Bean. Enjoy the fitted and a jam for the Bean’s illest rhymesayer.

JPP by Kaws and Medicom
Here’s a toy inspired by Japanese police, simply titled JPP. if you head over to Kawsone tomorrow, you can get one if you’re lightning quick about it. I love it, which says a bit, cuz I’m not into toys more than they occasional Be@rbrick. And this Chuwta toy I’ve BEEN TRYING TO GET AT RE-UP BUT THEY WON’T LET ME! WTF GUYS!? Woosa. Peep it.

Sho Sholly…
I have been teetering on the brink of unconciousness for most of the time following the Celtic’s shallacking of the rival Lakers. The parade was B-A-N-A-N-A-S, and the days after were almost equally awesome. What song has been my anthem for the past few days? GLAD YOU ASKED! Ladies and germs, Madlib and Lord Quas:
The C’s got in that @$$ like pampers, word to Quasimodo.
Fred Cannon Updates
Hello lovers and fighters. Just some rundown on Kind of a Purple Mood, the mixtape by yours truly. First and foremost here’s what’s for certain. It will be 8 tracks long. Not 9, not 7, 10 and 6 are right out of the question. 6 original beats and 2 tracks over some oldies but goodies by my faves. The cover will be up ASAP, we’re just deciding between three. It will be free for download here and on the myspace page, which, though dormant, is about to get a major facelift and some much needed attention. Also, a month after the fact, me and a DJ friend of mine who shall remain nameless until I feel like telling you (sinister laugh) will be releasing Kind of a Jazzy Mood, which will be the vocals from the previous tape over some Jazz numbers. I’m also looking into throwing a release party of some sort, since, who doesn’t like parties? Until then, Stay classy, interwebs.
Crystal Castles is My $&!#
I’ve been on this stuff for about two months, and I am addicted. XXzcuzxx Me is by far my favorite track, along with Untrust Us. I need to see these guys live, or something, sooner than later. CC, Come to Boston!
A Bit on My Mind
Since I Missed yet another W3, I will just air my grievances on a Saturday. It’s not like ya’ll pay me….
This one isn’t a greivance as much as it is a realization, but….
DO NOT TRUST PRINTING COMPANIES!
If you’re trying to print up your own joints, more power to you. I simply lack the space enough to mess with a screen printer. For everyone in a situation similar to mine, I have one simple piece of advice. Do not take your printer’s word for it. If they were good with designs, they’d be designers. The best thing to do is, explain it, write it down, show them, and, when giving over the designs, be sure to give them every piece, fonts, original pics, everything and anything to help smooth out the process. Better to be OCD about it than to get your joints back like Martin in this episode:
Now onto the greivances:
Mixtapes
It never ceases to amaze me how many mixtapes there can be on a day to day basis. Walking around the city (as I have found myself doing more of recently thanks to petrol prices) I am solicited by ten different rhymesayers (and now, even some rock bands) asking for a 5 or ten dollar contribution for their mixtape. No, Shawty Doo Wop (not making that one up) I didn’t want it yesterday, I don’t want it now. The inundation of the market with local and “major” mixtape players’ product has watered down the market (I smell a streetwear parallel!) and made it tougher to recognize and get hands on the actually quality that comes out. To get to Mick Boogie, you have to wade through a bunch of Dramas and Khaleds, Grubby Pawz’ and Pup Dawgs. Craptacular, all of them.
Biting
When you see something fresh on someone else, you do one of two things.
A. Give them props (either in your head or aloud) for what they have
B. Hate (either aloud or in your head)
Maybe I’m getting older, but it seems like the thing to do now, especially for brands, is to totally jock that other person or their design, and come out with a design so similar they can’t be told apart. How many brass knuckles have you seen since 2006 when 10 Deep started throwing them out more steadily? How many wolves or “adam bombs” have you seen since a year or so ago when The Hundreds started getting more love? Bape? Do I need to explain that one?
Resellers
I got kickblocked (like cockblocking for shoes) by a reseller when I went to go cop my Skate or Die dunks. Who Buys EVERY SIZE 12!? I don’t really have much more to say than that. No long spiel, it just really pissed me off. I understand some smaller sites are good for heads who don’t live near big spots or cant afford a Flight Club trip. But have some scruples, you jerks.
New Shops
Every other month, a new shop opens in the Boston area, whether a small reseller or a boutique or a dude going around with heat in his trunk(again, not making that up). Don’t. We’ve got fresh stuff already. We have Concepts, Bodega, Laced, Re-Up, Karmaloop, and even AWOL still. This is not NYC, and Boston is by no means a large city, though densely populated. We just don’t need that many shops getting the same joints (not counting BDGA), selling them at the same prices, selling out around the same times. Opening up a new shop is cool, if it’s unique and has something different to offer. But, if you can’t be that unique, at least be aesthetically pleasing. Look nice. I don;t care if you’re in a basement or a Newbury street locale, it doesn’t have to look like a street corner vendor set up shop in a storefront. Step your game up, ya’ll
Glow In The Dark Mixtape
I am not a fan of mixtapes. They have taken a MAJOR dip in quality since the mid 90’s. Still, every once in a while, a good one comes along that I get wind of. This is one of them. The mixtape prequel to the tour (which was said to be coming to Boston, but I cannot find dates on any major tix sites. hmm….) Either way, Enjoy.

Radiohead Coming to Boston!
August 13th, Radiohead will be at the Tweeter Center. This will also be the day global hunger and war end, strangely enough. It’s seven months away, but screw it, I’m pumped now.
Here’s My favorite Radiohead song, set to one of my favorite Manga. Eat it up.
I hope you choke.
